This is a superb, Art Deco, Pewter Cigarette Dispensing Box. Made of Pewter, it is a substantial piece, bearing a wonderful replica figure of Harry Vardon to the top. The whole ensemble is engine turned to provide a match striker outer body. Stamped S&M Enturn Pewter. Regd. to the base. The top lifts on a hinge to reveal the cigarette dispensing tray. Iconcially Art Deco, it is a fine piece of metal craftmanship. This would make a fantastic antique prize at any golf day, or a super, interesting desk top conversation piece.

Born in the Channel Islands, Harry Vardon is without doubt one of the key figures in the history of golf. His record of six Open victories, completed over the space of thirty years, has never been beaten. The first British golfer ever to win the US Open, Vardon deservedly became a golfing legend on both sides of the Atlantic. Winner of 7 major titles, including the US Open in 1900, and the British Open in 1896, 1898, 1899, 1903, 1911, 1914, now a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
