This is a really charming early Victorian tinsel picture in nice original condition dating from around 1840. The picture depicts St George and the Dragon. The hand coloured print is beautifully embellished with foil and metal enamels and cut out collage detail.

These antique tinsel pictures were popular in the early 19th century but are becoming increasingly hard to find now. This is a really good example and one of 18 of these we have recently acquired from a good collection. This is a really good example with a great subject and is in its original frame.

The frame measures 34 cms by 29 cms .
