A stylish antique Regency chair in a painted finish dating from circa 1810. The back with shaped cross rail, standing on sabre legs to the front and back. The chair is decorated in a faded brown and gilt painted finish, some of which appears original and other parts appears to have been retouched. The seat would have originally been caned and now has a newly reupholstered drop-in seat. Solid and sturdy with few old mends to the back and some old worm holes throughout. A very decorative chairs that would look wonderful in a hall or perhaps a bathroom or bedroom.
Construction/Wood:
pained pine.
Condition Report:
Solid and sturdy. Wear and marks commensurate with age. Some paint appears original, other areas repainted. It appears to have quite a bit of restoration. Lots of old worm holes.
