English 19th Century Victorian solid oak kitchen table, measuring 8ft long, sitting on a pitch pine frame, which seats up to 10 people, circa 1870, in excellent condition.

Description:
This is a fine quality antique English 19th Century Victorian farmhouse table, measuring 8ft long, sitting on a pitch pine frame, which seats up to 10 people, circa 1870, in excellent condition. Boasting a stunning solid oak light colour top, this oak refectory table comprises four solid oak 1½ inch planks with cleated ends and ebonised caps. The top has a lovely mellow colour & grain configuration, having been cleaned and French polished in our workshop, to a professional standard. Constructed in the traditional manner with mortise and tenon joints and pegged, with a straight frieze each side, the frame is made from solid pitch pine. Four sturdy baluster turned legs raise this rustic oak kitchen table off the ground.
It will seat up to 10 chairs (please see photos with chairs around the table). Sufficiently tall to fit your legs underneath, the table is also wide enough at 2ft 11 inches to accommodate serving dishes in the centre. A generous over-hang at each end allows plenty of space for armchairs. As with all our refectory tables, this piece is shipped as one whole item and does not dismantle.
This antique table would look superb in either a traditional or contemporary setting, in a variety of rooms from the kitchen to the dining room. We do not offer free delivery to locations north of Stirling in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or any British Islands off the mainland for example, the Isle of Man, Isle of White and Channel Islands. Condition This is a fine quality antique English 19th Century antique country house dining table measuring 8ft long, sitting on a pitch pine frame, which seats up to 10 people, circa 1870, in excellent condition. The antique English refectory table has been cleaned and French polished in our workshop, to a professional standard, therefore the top has an excellent finish, with no cup marks or stains to the table top. Nominal old use marks to the top and leading edges of the frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The table is solid, with no breaks, damage or loose movements. This Victorian farmhouse dining table is heavy and solid in joint, which is always a sign of good quality.
