Antique Elgin full hunter pocket watch and chain
Antique Elgin full hunter pocket watch and chain.
The watch has a 7-jewel stem-winding movement, grade 292, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 21,323,610 dates it back to 1919.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some scratching where a tool has slipped in the past. The inside of this inner cover has a handsome sunburst pattern, a nice detail for something which was rarely seen.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and it is beautifully decorated on both the front and back. There are a couple of scratches to the cartouche but they are light.
The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.
Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in lovely condition.
The single sunk signed dial is in very nice condition with blued steel hands, subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes with a later single rolled gold chain, 29cm long including the T-bar and the clasp, complete with fob.
The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
