A spectacular oriental carved wood armchair, this was likely made in China and dates from around the 1890-1910 period.

It has an absolutely stunning design with profuse carving throughout, this must have taken an incredibly long time to create. There are very interesting details throughout, the most striking being the dragon arms. This is extremely well made and is actually surprisingly comfortable given the amount of carving on the back rest.

We have had this recently re-polished, there are a couple of very minor historical repairs to the carving. Overall this is structurally sound and in very good condition for its age.
