Antique 9CT Gold Double Sovereign Case
An antique 9CT Gold Double Sovereign Case.
The case hallmarked on the inside with the maker's mark "HW&CoLD" for Horace Woodward & Co Ltd alongside "9" and ".375" for 18 carat gold. The town mark and date letters worn but most probably Birmingham c1910.
The case interior with compartments for full and half sovereigns.
The case bears a Scottish interest presentation inscription
"Presented to Andrew Hamilton Esq., Sheriff Clerk Office, Airdrie by a few friends on the occasion of his promotion to the Glasgow office, January 1910."
