A delightful example of 18th Century tableware. This is a jelly glass on a raised and domed foot, with a broken pontil mark. Jelly glasses were widely used for desserts or entree, containing sweet or savoury fillings such as calves foot jelly or port wine jelly and carried modest portion sizes as the flavors were intense. A lovely example from a bygone era.
