A fine American marine chronometer dating from 1941, made to the U.S. Navy specification by the </I>Hamilton Watch Co. Lancaster, Pennsylvania</i>, Number (N) 3852, now housed in a custom made five-glass burr walnut case edged in ebonised mouldings, and standing on brass bun feet.

The nickel plated Model 21 14-jeweled movement has a freesprung balance with palladium hairspring, the chain fusee movement with Earnshaw type detent escapement. The duration of the movement is 56 hours.

The 4-inch signed silvered dial has subsidiary dials for state of wind and seconds.
