A rare armorial panel of the North Eastern Railway (NER), with the railway’s coat of arms transfer printed in polychrome and gold onto oak ply. It is thought that this item may be a door panel salvaged from an old carriage. There are some losses consistent with age, but the colours are still nice and deep. An attractive and unusual railway item. 62cm x 45cm. (NB The North Eastern Railway was incorporated in 1854 and become part of the LNER in 1923).
