This highly detailed and very well carved late 19th century miniature bamboo okimono shows a figure group with a traditionally dressed man walking on a rocky landscape with a large mythical beast, and in the background, there is a decorative incense burner with trailing smoke.

The figure is three dimensionally carved with good depth and fine detail. The edges and back are plain. The okimono comes with its original dark hardwood shaped and fitted stand, which is raised onto four out swept feet.
