Exceptionally fine eight day striking library antique clock. The eight day movement striking the hours and half hours, numbered 150852. Contained in a very unusual ormolu cast case, with a leaf finial flanked by garland swag decoration over a cast key moulded frieze, The dial with Arabic and Roman numerals inscribed, JOH HARTMANN, 48/49 UNTER DEN LINDEN, who would have been one of the finest retailers in pre-war Berlin. The base with further leaf and key moulding, on classic inspired scroll. Ht 36, W 16.5, D 12 cms. Frank Craig Antiques established 1972, with 50 years in the antique trade.
