A Chinese Gem stone bonsai tree
This most beautiful Chinese highly decorative bonsai tree has been exquisitely handmade.
It stands in an oval painted Yixing pottery low container with a natural pebble surface from which the trees gnarly trunk is secured. It is made from finely detailed porcelain.
The outer branches are made from twisted and woven fine brass wire and the multitude of assorted coloured leaves are made from polished semi-precious stones. All of which have been finely drilled and secured onto the individual wires forming each branch of leaves.
This is a remarkable object which looks fabulous in sunlight, glistening and enhancing the natural colours.
Chinese, circa 1930
Height 24cm x width 31cm x depth 20cm
