A 1920's Western Canadian Cedar Trunk
A 1920's Western Canadian Cedar Trunk. The trunk is beautifully made with tongue and groove corners. At the front is a brass lock (sorry we have no key). Metal handles sit on both sides for ease of moving.
Cedar was used a lot in trunk making as it repels moths, so a cedar trunk was very useful for storing wool and delicate fabrics.
