A 17th Century Wainscot Chair

An attractive chair thought to originate from the South Lancashire region. Raised on baluster turned legs joined by periphoral stretchers, the two piece plank seat with chip carved decoration to sides. The arms shaped and downswept.
The chair back with an impressive scrolled crest pediment over a rectangular foliate carved panel flanked by S scroll 'ears'.
The larger carved lozenge panel with central quatrefoil decoration and fluttering pennant-like terminals.
