A 15th Century Gargoyle.
A 15th century carved limestone gargoyle having a grotesque expression, with its hollowed mouth wide open to which water once poured out.
Overall the gargoyle has a lovely weathered and worn patina.
Provenance - from Allsaints parich church, St Ives, Cambridgeshire. This was presented to Mr Grove who was church warden, following a plane crash flown by a 2nd luitenant Wastell in 1918.
