A beautiful early 20th century pictorial enamel and gilt metal singing bird music box,c1925.Comes complete with original red leather and gilded case with original bird shaped key.Attributed to Karl Griesbaum.Marked on the base with an impressed EB in an oval and an impressed METALL mark.The box when wound makes the bird automaton suddenly appear through a pierced and chased gilt metal grill under a domed lid,and moves from side to side with moving wings emitting a birdsong effect.The top of the box features a country vignette of painted enamel of courting couples.The sides of the box feature various landscape vignettes of houses and a villa.In superb working condition with no damage or restoration. The box measures in length - 4inches/10cm. Box width measures - 2.5inches/7cm.Box height measures - 1.5inches/4cm.Please note Paypal is not available for this item.
