19thc Bavarian shooting target for competition
C19th Bavarian shooting competition target with a painted hunting scene, dated 21st September 1884.
The text running around the side of the target, from what I understand, mentions the competition and the winning marksman. These competitions were a great tradition in the southern Germany regions.
The condition is good, although it has been shot at of course, so there are an impressive cluster of shots around the target. The pine board itself has remained in great condition and is braced on the rear.
Great decor piece and a fun item. The original hanging loop is in tact and will happily hold the panel on your wall.
Measuring:
21” or 53.5cm diameter
This item can be posted within the UK by courier at a cost of £25 + vat ( £30 ) or you are very welcome to collect from Uppingham, Rutland Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
