This is a 19th Century French Kingwood Perfume Casket with 3 Baccarat perfume bottles. The exterior has a chevron pattern created from alternating strips of kingwood. The top is inlaid with ebony, mother of pearl and brass stringing. The interior is lined in blue satin. The edges are decorated with with blue silk cording.

The three bottles are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. All three bottles are numbered, two have a gilt number on the base and one has a number etched into the bottom. The stoppers are also numbered. One is etched with the same number that corresponds to the bottle number (14). The other two have a gilt number. One has the same number as the bottle it belong to, the other has a different number than the bottle, so it may be a replacement. The stoppers are also in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, though some of the gilt is starting to wear.

These perfume caskets rarely come with intact bottles or are in such good condition. This is a lovely piece.
