18th Cent 8 Day Long Case / Grandfather Clock

A handsome longcase clock by James Eley of Fenchurch Street, London. He is listed as working there from 1761 to 1787. The case is in very well figured mahogany and is a beautiful colour and has retained its original finish.
The arch toped hood has nice fluted columns with gilt brass Corinthian capitals. The case has a beautifully figured long door and it stands on its original ogee bracket feet.
The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a most attractive brass and silvered dial. It has a subsidiary seconds dial, working date indicator and the all important strike/silent selector to the arch.
The case is in very good unrestored original condition. The movement has been serviced and is in excellent working order.
The maximum dimensions are:
230cm (90.5") high
54cm (21") wide
25cm (10") deep
If purchased at the listed price we offer a 12m warranty (based on the movement being returned to Watlington)
Free local delivery (75 miles), national and international delivery arranged at cost.
