1790s Teardrop Tavern clock with Seconds Pendulum
A rare large tavern antique clock, the case faced with walnut veneers and mouldings, the sides in polished oak bands.
The eight day A-frame timepiece movement has a single cuboid weight, and seconds pendulum.
The 18-inch silvered dial has engraved Roman hours and Arabic minutes numerals, with substantial but finely shaped steel hands.
The case door is fully removable, hinging downwards on two protruding pins, then lifting off.
Height 59 inches (150cm)
Thomas Hudson is recorded as working from Cheapside, Nottingham between 1780 and 1799, and records exist of two apprentices bound to him a John Dakin bound in 1791, and Thomas Henry Fitzgerald in 1794.
The movement is to be overhauled by us, and guaranteed for 3 years. The price includes delivery within the mainland UK, and we are happy to quote for shipping worldwide.
