Case, Bezel & Dial Design
The clock's dark mahogany case features a moulded mahogany bezel, a pendulum access door underneath, and a mechanism-viewing door on the left-hand side. Consequently, you can watch the chiming mechanism at work while the clock runs. A hinged mahogany bezel also houses the glass that protects the ivory-coloured tin dial during operation. This bezel opens on a right-hand hinge, so you can easily adjust or set the time. Meanwhile, a catch on the back of the clock secures the bezel and stops it swinging open by accident.
French-Polished Mahogany Finish
Skilled craftsmen French-polished the mahogany case to create a rich, dark finish. In addition, this "deep dish" case design gives the clock better quality and slightly more depth than 16-inch clocks. A wall-mounting bracket on the back makes fitting straightforward. Furthermore, brass levelling lugs and pins on each side grip the wall and let you angle the case if your wall isn't perfectly vertical, such as in older buildings.
Ivory-Coloured Tin Dial & Hands
The dial features black Arabic numerals alongside elegant, shaped hour and minute hands. Notably, a replacement ivory-coloured tin dial sits behind the mahogany bezel, matching the clock's original style.
Chiming Mechanism & Movement
This mahogany wall clock houses a quality, double-brass-barrel, spring-driven Enfield chiming mechanism. Manufacturers originally shipped these movements out to India and then cased them locally, which reduced shipping costs at the time. The Enfield mechanism chimes once on the half hour and, on the hour, strikes the full number of hours. Two holes in the dial face control the clock: the left-hand hole winds the movement, while the right-hand hole winds the chiming train. Therefore, you can enable or disable the chime, depending on whether you want to hear it. Our workshop has also restored and serviced the movement, so the clock now runs reliably and keeps good time.
Pendulum & Winding
You can access the pendulum through the door beneath the clock, where it attaches to the mechanism. Adjusting the pendulum's length then lets you regulate the clock's speed with precision. The clock also comes with a winding key, which winds the mechanism through the centre of the dial face.

Condition This good-quality antique 14.5-inch mahogany Enfield wall clock has a railway station design and a genuine chiming Enfield mechanism which has been lovingly restored it to good working order. Naturally, the case and tin dial show only minor age marks, nothing significant given the clock\'s history. The tin dial has been replaced at some point in the past. Overall, the mahogany case remains in good condition. The brass-hinged mahogany bezel works well, although it has flex in the hinge. A working bezel-locking latch is present and stops the bezel from opening by accident. The mechanism, however, remains completely original it has been cleaned and serviced it, so it now keeps good time.
Because we\'re confident in this mechanism, we offer a 2-year UK warranty. Therefore, if a mechanical problem arises, we\'ll collect the clock free of charge, repair it, and return it to you free of charge. In addition, we offer a 14-day UK returns policy if you decide the clock isn\'t right for you. Importantly, this clock also retains its original mechanism — nobody has replaced it with a cheaper, devaluing electric battery-operated kit, as seen in some clocks.
