Beautifully depicted white carnations on a mottled sky-blue ground. Verse to reverse of vase reading "Time is ever on the wing, With it's song and sorrow, Strive to go some good today, Wait not 'til to-morrow." This vase is in excellent condition commensurate with age. No chips, cracks or crazing. Salt-glazing naturally produced a stippled effect on the finished colour. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.

Bessie Newbery was listed in 1882 as a Junior Assistant but her talent was recognised and she was promoted to Senior Assistant. By 1911 she was working as a Supervisor and Artist, designing original work c1914 to 1924.
