Description

Excellent pair of Regency rosewood sabre legged salon chairs c1810. The chairs have curved cresting rails with central relief panel and scroll adorned convex border detail. Pierced scroll carved back rails with central pineapple motif. Tapered drop-in seats embraced by raised curved side-rails to both sides. Concave contoured seat mirroring the curved side-rails and located with original brass locating pegs to front and rear rails. Each raised on four elegantly tapered sabre legs. Premium quality solid rosewood throughout with veneered fronts to front and rear seat rails. Drop-in seats newly professionally and traditionally re-upholstered using quality fabric and retaining their original horsehair and hessian rolls. Restored to a high standard and retaining their antique finish. Maximum dimensions are 87 cm height, 46 cm width and 58 depth (at base of legs). Seat height is 44 cm and seat depth is 39 cm.
These chairs are in excellent condition commensurate with age. Minor historic marks, wear and repairs as is to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Chair frames are in excellent condition and all joints sound. Newly reupholstered. These chairs have been restored in our workshop to a very high standard using traditional methods and materials.
