Description

An excellent set of four Regency mahogany dining chairs. Each with rope-twist crest rail above a finely carved scrolling splat centred by a roundel. Elegantly profiled ‘S’ shaped chairback faired through to the side rails. Tapered seats with cane-work. Cane seats with original additional side-rails for locating ribbon tied squab cushions. Raised on four elegantly tapered sabre legs. All solid mahogany frames. Restored to a high standard and retaining their antique finish. Maximum dimensions are 83 cm height, 46 cm width and 53 depth. Seat height is 40 cm and seat depth is 40 cm.
These chairs are in excellent condition commensurate with age. Minor historic marks, wear and repairs as is to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Chair frames are in excellent condition and all joints sound. The chairs retain their original finish. Cane seats in excellent condition. These chairs have been restored in our workshop to a very high standard using traditional methods and materials. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
