In 1867 Albert Villon established his company in Saint-Nicolas-d'Aiermont, France making complete clocks of which ‘pendules de voyage’ formed a large part. Paul Duverdrey joined the firm as director in 1887 and in 1910, following Villon’s death, he was joined by Joseph Bloquel. The firm continued under the name Duverdrey & Bloquel using the lion trademark until c.1939. After 1939 the company used the name and trademark "Bayard".
