Superb hide covered camphor wood chest on a later bespoke made lacquered pine stand dating mid 19th century a well travelled piece of luggage possibly for shipping personal items? Whilst showing signs of wear and use consistent with antiquity its hand stitching has lasted well it has an ownership or makers label to lid interior ,the later base is early 20th century and made to export constructed in the Chinese manner a beautiful decorative useful piece of antique storage furniture with wonderful rich chestnut colour and patina would look great on a landing or entrance hall or window alcove
