Description

A lovely early eighteenth century oak bureau in excellent order. Around the drawers a double 'D'applied moulding, the fashion from about 1710 following the earlier single 'D' of the late 17th century. Two secret drawers only in this bureau but big enough for a hundred and more sovereigns but none came with it, I'm sorry to say. Nowadays a very practical piece of furniture, with the advent of powerful laptops there is plenty of room to store and use one inside. With the locking fall there is also a reasonable element of security. Apart from an occasional polish this won't need any attention for probably another hundred years.
