A Georgian pine tavern settle

Description

A lovely early nineteenth century pine settle, most unusually with an angled back. That is so much more comfortable than the straight backs normally seen on this type of settle. From the seat down the back angles out sharply to counteract the fact that two people might be leaning back in the seat and without it the thing would topple over backwards. The shape also means that it can be treated as a freestanding piece of furniture without needing a wall behind it, it can stand safely anywhere in a room.
