The Torwoodlee Longcase Clock, Late Georgian by Jo Kirkwood. A Scottish Borders Clockmaker known to have operated in Kelso Redpath and Torwoodlee. A Private Estate outside Galashields . Owned by the Pringle Family since 1501 . Have you heard of the name before?? Yes one of the family started Pringle Knitwear.
The Clock is in first class condition. The Oak Case was Restored in 1982 by a well known cabinet maker from Woodhall Spa Lincolnshire and more recently has had a full service, new gut lines etc. As I understand it, the clock was owned by a Gent from Woodhall Spa for many years .
