Description

A Magnificent Large Old Sheffield Plate Meat Dome by J&J Waterhouse &Co both the dome and handle carry their mark. The mark registered in 1833 also a small thistle mark alongside the mark apparently used for important pieces of the old sheffield plate. The dome made for the Blair Family bears their coat of arms and the motto 'amo probus'(Love the virtuous). There are 2 Rubbed in Armorials one on each side but one left vacant. As with all Waterhouse OSP is of the highest quality and lovely detailing.
