Description

This is a rare Staffordshire transfer jug with black printing dating back to the mid 1800's portraying victories in the Russian Crimea. One side shows the charge of the Scots Greys at Balaclava. The other side shows the charge of the Chasseurs d'Afrique at Balaclava. Very good condition - some of the gilding is all present and in good condition. No damage to pottery that I can see, other than a small firing crack in the inside. Jug is 8 inches tall (20cm) and 7.8 inches from handle to spout.
