Description

Beautifully made inlaid mahogany longcase clock of small proportions, with early painted gilt arched dial. The swan neck pediment hood above delicate shaped blind fret, gilded capitals with tapering reeded columns, the slender case with long shaped flame mahogany door, box strung and a lovely use of figured mahogany & crossbanding which follows through to the base, all stood on small bracket feet. (a j morrison listed as apprenticed to david murray of edinburgh in 1787, this example circa 1795, see brian loomes clockmakers of the world). A delightfull clock with a lot of pleasing detail of quality typical of many scottish clocks. The movement serviced and running well in our showroom. Delivery & set up arranged nationwide. Dimensions
