French Renaissance Revival Gothic Paw Foot Chairs French Renaissance Revival Gothic %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A rare set of ten French Renaissance Revival fully restored Gothic paw foot chairs dining chairs. This unusually large set of bench made chairs are impressive from every angle.
Their design includes elaborately carved, paw feet front and back with talons and deeply carved digits. A turned cross, medial stretcher, upper legs and back supports. The tops of the upper back rest are further enhanced with carved acanthus fronds while the back and seat panels have been reupholstered with a tobacco brown open grained leather that will only mellow and age with time further adding to their character and beauty.
Even the antiques 8 pointed ‘star’, hobnails were chosen to replicate the originals whereas the fragility of the original leather was too brittle to preserve.
